Self-Tanning Milky Essence

Overall I like the product! It was easy to apply, the smell is very minimal - no post tan odor the second and third days. It was a little stickier than expected - for me not really an apply and sleep through the night kind of product. I applied with my hands and then scrubbed aggressively with soap and a nail scrubber immediately after and still turned up with orange fingertips and palms despite this. Overall I really like the product just some minor things like applying in the daytime and with gloves could improve.

I have never written a review for anything before, but seeing how highly this is rated made me write this one because this tanner was actually so bad.

First off all, it is NOT streak free as I am currently looking at my very streaky arms and legs while I typing this. I'm no amateur to self tanners and this one is one of the worst I've ever used, I've had cheap drug store tanners give better coverage.

Second, the reason I even bought this was that it was advertised as scent free because I absolutely loathe the smell of self tanner. And for the first 20 minutes there wasn't! While applying it, I noticed there was some scent to it, almost like sour vanilla, but it wasn't *tanner* scent, but of course it was too good to be true because then subtly for the next 8 hours that classic self tanner scent got stronger and stronger until it was noticeably there (and still lingering on my clothes and blanket 24 hours later). If tanner wasn't already an awful on it's own, they actually somehow made it even worse because that slightly sour vanilla got worse and worse until it was like something was full on rotten underlying. I'm not even kidding when I say I checked the milk and food in the fridge to make sure it wasn't expired, checked the closets and under the cabinets to make sure a mouse hadn't gotten in and died in there, and changed the garbage cans in the kitchen thinking there had to be rotting food or something until I realized the reason the smell was traveling room to…

I am so glad that Cyklar decided to do a self tanning formula and even more glad it’s in the milky essence. I was already using milky essence as part of my routine. Having it this way, makes it so so easy. I never have trouble with streaking with this. The smell is a little bit biscuity on me, but I think that’s hard to avoid. I’ve never used a self tanner that doesn’t have some kind of after smell. It’s not super bad but it is there. All in all, I’m really satisfied with this and how it wears. I’ve used it for a while now and it fades really evenly too. No weird peeling or streaking as it fades.
