The best kinds of showers leave you not just clean, but totally transformed. Whether you have time for a 2-step routine or a 6-step routine, we’ve got you covered. Below, a step-by-step guide to our skincare-infused shower formulas that deliver your softest, smoothest skin.
Step 1: Cleanse with Sensorial Body Wash
Our Sensorial Body Wash lives up to its name: It’s a silky, luxurious oil-infused body wash that gently cleanses and nourishes the skin. Skincare ingredients include Sodium PCA to improve hydration, fatty acid water to enhance the skin barrier, and a multi-oil complex to soften dry skin. It’s clinically proven to hydrate your skin for eight hours post-shower, too.
Lather it everywhere to cleanse. Extra credit: Reach for the Body Toning Cup to help boost local circulation and encourage lymphatic drainage as you cleanse. Use light suction and circular motions on areas like thighs and abdomen.
Step 2: Exfoliate
A few times a week, try incorporating physical and chemical exfoliation into your shower routine to smooth skin and address any rough texture. You can approach this step a few different ways, depending on your personal preferences and what your skin needs in the moment:
Lactic Acid Foaming Body Polish: This two-in-one, fragrance-free lactic acid body polish cleanser and exfoliator foams into a dreamy lather to reveal smoother, brighter skin. Lactic, phytic, and mandelic acids gently improve skin tone and overall texture while microcrystalline cellulose and volcanic pumice remove dead skin cells and buildup. When you’re using this, you can start with Sensorial Body Wash as a first cleanse, or forgo that step altogether.
Soap on a Rope: This oversized treatment bar is formulated with gentle non-stripping surfactants, microexfoliants, and an AHA complex to buff away impurities without stripping the skin of moisture. Soap on a Rope is a great option if you prefer a physical bar, and it leaves skin, along with your whole bathroom, lightly fragranced with your signature scent.
Semi-Solid Moisturizing Body Scrub: If you want to skip chemical exfoliation, go for our new physical body scrub, which is made with concentrated physical exfoliants to instantly polish and smooth rough skin. While you physically polish, rich oils, squalane, glycerin, and shea butter intensely nourish to leave skin irresistibly soft and deeply moisturized (more on that below).
Choose a body polish with both chemical and physical exfoliation if you want more targeted smoothing, a treatment bar for cleansing and buffing, or a moisturizing physical scrub when dryness is also a concern. For most people, exfoliating the body 2–3 times per week is a good starting point.
Step 3: Moisturize
Yes, you can moisturize in the shower. Applying a moisturizing body product to wet or damp skin can help seal in hydration and reduce the need for additional post-shower steps.
Semi-Solid Moisturizing Body Scrub: This scrub does provide physical exfoliation, but it also leaves a true moisturizing veil on skin. It’s so moisturizing that you might find you don’t need a post-shower body oil or body cream, depending on your skin’s needs and the climate you’re in.
In-Shower Body Oil Balm: This moisturizing body oil balm melts on contact to lock in moisture, leaving you with deliciously fragranced skin that’s soft, smooth, and supple. Apply it onto wet skin right after you turn off your water. Massage all over, and no need to rinse. Just towel dry as normal.
Whether you have time for a quick cleanse with Sensorial Body Wash or a multi-step routine, you’ll step out of the shower with hydrated, nourished skin.
